I Can't Take it...

I mean honestly.

I am watching the Dem Convention...

If I hear anyone else whine about the right to abort... and then the next speaker down the line has the gall to say that being concerned about the levels of the ocean is something from the Scriptures ...
(Ahem Caroline Kennedy and John Kerry)

I just can't stand it.

"Save the Whales, Kill the Babies".

Of course, The Bible says to be a good steward of the earth... but what do you think God is more concerned about... Babies, made in His image being torn apart or killed upon delivery, stabbed in the neck with scissors??? (partial birth abortion) or the glaciers melting?  (Like they did so many years ago before anyone ever heard of the word "emissions"....)

Just sayin'.

Happy Valentine's Day

Genesis 29:20
So Jacob worked seven years to pay for Rachel. But his love for her was so strong that it seemed to him but a few days. (NLT)

Proverbs 5:19
A loving doe, a graceful deer—may her breasts satisfy you always, may you ever be captivated by her love. (NIV)

Proverbs 10:12
Hatred stirs up dissension, but love covers over all wrongs. (NIV)

Proverbs 13:24
Those who love their children care enough to discipline them. (NLT)

Proverbs 15:17
A bowl of vegetables with someone you love is better than steak with someone you hate. (NLT)

Proverbs 17:9
Love prospers when a fault is forgiven, but dwelling on it separates close friends. (NLT)

Proverbs 17:17
A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity. (NIV)

Proverbs 30:18-19
There are three things that amaze me—
no, four things that I don’t understand:
how an eagle glides through the sky,
how a snake slithers on a rock,
how a ship navigates the ocean,
how a man loves a woman.
(NLT)

Song of Solomon 1:2
Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth— for your love is more delightful than wine. (NIV)

Song of Solomon 2:16
My lover is mine, and I am his. (NLT)

Song of Solomon 4:10
How delightful is your love, my sister, my bride! How much more pleasing is your love than wine, and the fragrance of your perfume than any spice! (NIV)

Song of Solomon 8:6
Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame. (NIV)

Song of Solomon 8:7
Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot wash it away. If one were to give all the wealth of his house for love, it would be utterly scorned. (NIV)

John 15:13
Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. (NIV)

1 Corinthians 13:1-8a and 13
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails....And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. (NIV)

Ephesians 5:25
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her. (NIV)

Ephesians 5:33
However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband. (NIV)

Colossians 3:14
And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. (NIV)

1 Peter 4:8
Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. (NIV)

1 John 3:16
This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. (NIV)

1 John 3:18
Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. (NIV)

1 John 4:8
Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. (NIV)

1 John 4:18
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. (NIV)

Follow me on Spitter...

I hesitated even posting this right on the heels of this mornings post about my little angel...

Today I traversed the stairs for the first time since the birth. No problem after the week of hanging out that I have been blessed with. I got the chickens to bed, Momma left, I jumped on the Internet (Joel is working tonight) and realized with a panic that the State of the Union was on and I was stuck up here with no chocolate...no wine...oh my gosh...I didn't think I could stomach an hour of blather without either. So, I broke the Midwifes rules (stairs just once a day during the second week of recovery) and crept down for 72% cacao and a bottle of Two Buck Chuck Merlot...hey, if you think I am going to waste the good stuff on Obama you're crazy...

Let's pretend someone cares what I think...here is my play by play of tonight's speech ...Twitter style...

Why does Michelle always look like such a B- with that clenched jaw? And why does he always have to cock his head upward like that - he looks like such a snob.

The worst of the storm has passed? Is he kidding? How can he say that with inflation and a worse economy for our children on the horizon?

Oh good grief - the children. I should have my little Aidan send him a letter. Every time he gets a quarter as a treat he asks if Obama is going to take some of it!

If I hear the Wall Street/Main Street comment one more time I think I might PUKE!

Why is he talking so proper? Why doesn't he throw down with that Chicago style accent he puts on when he visits back home??

Strained but hopeful? Oh boy, I could start a drinking game with the word hope? I might be sloshed by the time Joel gets home!

Our Union is strong? Is he joking? THE PEOPLE are strong but if you ask me, the Union is a mess! No one respects us, Korea, Venezuela, Russia, Iran...

"We all hated the bank bailout"? What is that, like giving a child a spanking and saying this hurts you more than it hurts me??

Oh, listen, the "root canal" thing,- he thru in that Chicago style slur!

Wait, you recovered most of the money you FORCED on the banks!!!!

Good lord, if I have to hear about the big bonuses one more time I might VOMIT!!!! Just lower my FRICKEN TAXES already - I don't care HOW MUCH people on Wall Street make!!!!

Oh sit down Nancy!

You cut taxes hugh? Oh boy, I don't know if I can stomach this.

"Slowly Slum?"

How about you just stop taxing the crap out of us? A new jobs bill? How about you just LEAVE US ALONE? I love how they talk about small businesses...we are a very small business and it's not the lending that gets us, it's the damn taxes.

You want me to stimulate the economy, how about letting me keep my money? Hubby brings home $1000 from a big painting job and what do I do? I set aside $250 to give the IRS? I could pay for a car with that money or go to Disneyworld for pete's sake.

Clean energy and climate bill?
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

OVERWHELMING SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE ON CLIMATE CHANGE???? Is this a joke?

Oh my gosh, he's on drugs. That stupid climate change bill is going to destroy middle class finances...

Isn't the best anit-poverty tool around a healthy family with a mom and a dad? Seems like I have heard that before...

All I am hearing about is spending...this bill, that bill, this bill, that bill.

I've got an idea. A tax credit for "stay at home Mom's." You know, those of us pouring our hearts and souls into the future of America, those of us sacrificing a second income, and there are some of us who could bring in a VERY significant second income.

How about a tax credit for people who get and stay married?

How about a BIGGER tax credit for those of us reproducing at a rate that this country needs to sustain itself in the future?

How about a tax credit for people who stay healthy? (I suppose that would be "unfair")

Hey ya'll, Michelle told you to sit down and she meant it!

I wish San Fran Gran Nan would wipe that look off fer face - oh, I forgot...she can't.

Oh! The laughter! Wow, he didn't even flinch. No Drama Obama.

Sorry - I missed alot - had to nurse the babes.

Wait on the subject of defense we have strengthened partnerships from where to where? Last time I checked it didn't seem like anyone respected us anymore.

"Responsibly leaving Iraq to it's people." Precious. Just precious.

"Make no mistake this war is ending and all of our troops are coming home". ...YIKES, did you see the pan to that General or whatever he was? He did NOT look impressed.

Would someone please remind me how a "Community Organizer" became the president of this country? This is excruciating.

Supporting military families...that is a no brainer. Think of all the money this government pisses away that could go towards taking care of our bravest.

What is that Canary Yellow thing going on down there? Goodness, there should be a dress code. I am blinded!!!!

Iran will face growing consequences? That is a promise? Really? Cause I am not feeling that. I don't think Imalittlenutjob is either.

Oh gosh, I have to stop. It's too much. I can't look at Nancy any more. I can't listen to this.
I can't listen to anything about human dignity from someone who believes in killing the innocent...the unborn.

"If you abide by the law, you should be protected by it." Hey, he said it, not me. I can't remember the last time a baby in the belly broke any laws.

Don't ask don't tell...zoom in on the generals for a response.

Oh, and throw in securing the borders for good measure. What a joke, someone is dusting off the welcome mat right now.

Oh, sorry, I said I was gonna stop.

The sad thing is the Republican response will probably be a TOTAL embarrassment, what do ya bet?

Hope you found this more entertaining than our "great leader." Sorry about the attitude I've been silent for a couple months now - guess it just had to come out! I'll go back to cooing over my baby now...

Hope and Change?

"I've got two daughters, 9 years old and 6 years old.  If they make a mistake I don't want them punished with a baby."
-Barack Obama

Feeling the hope?  Neither are the babies at risk in the womb all across America.

Funny, how many of us have friends and family that could have been considered "punishment"?  I've got a few and they have names and life stories and their deliveries and births did not destroy the lives of their birth mothers...

Praise God that there was more going on in Washington this week.  Today was the annual March for Life.  The press won't fawn over the marchers.  Hollywood won't be there to bestow their blessings.  Now one will care what they are "wearing". Just thousands of people (100,000), young and old that want to remind us that real hope and change begins when we all remember that we are ALL former embryos!

In the name of Hope and Change, Our President has promised that one of his first acts will be the "Freedom of Choice Act" (FOCA) Partial Birth Abortion will be legalized, parental notification will be obliterated, Religious hospitals will face the consequences of not getting on board with Hope and Change!  How inspiring.
48 Million people weren't able to celebrate history the other day.  48 Million snatched from the womb since Roe VS Wade but that's not enough for our President.  He wants it to be even easier to destroy life.  So much for hope.

I know everyone hates it when I blog about this.  It's not fun.  It's not about Design or Food, it's not about Paris or Gardening.  This is what no one wants to talk about.  Check out the trailer for this new movie...talk about a story no one wants to talk about.
But I appreciate you reading and pausing just for a second to consider
LIFE.

No Thanks, I'll Walk.

Please,
take a moment and read this article from the Spanish daily newspaper, La Razon.  My comments will follow.

.- The Spanish daily “La Razon” has published an article on the pro-life conversion of a former “champion of abortion.” Stojan Adasevic, who performed 48,000 abortions, sometimes up to 35 per day, is now the most important pro-life leader in Serbia, after 26 years as the most renowned abortion doctor in the country.

“The medical textbooks of the Communist regime said abortion was simply the removal of a blob of tissue,” the newspaper reported.  “Ultrasounds allowing the fetus to be seen did not arrive until the 80s, but they did not change his opinion. Nevertheless, he began to have nightmares.”

In describing his conversion, Adasevic “dreamed about a beautiful field full of children and young people who were playing and laughing, from 4 to 24 years of age, but who ran away from him in fear. A man dressed in a black and white habit stared at him in silence.  The dream was repeated each night and he would wake up in a cold sweat. One night he asked the man in black and white who he was. ‘My name is Thomas Aquinas,’ the man in his dream responded. Adasevic, educated in communist schools, had never heard of the Dominican genius saint.  He didn’t recognize the name”

“Why don’t you ask me who these children are?” St. Thomas asked Adasevic in his dream.

“They are the ones you killed with your abortions,’ St. Thomas told him.

“Adasevic awoke in amazement and decided not to perform any more abortions,” the article stated.

“That same day a cousin came to the hospital with his four months-pregnant girlfriend, who wanted to get her ninth abortion—something quite frequent in the countries of the Soviet bloc.  The doctor agreed. Instead of removing the fetus piece by piece, he decided to chop it up and remove it as a mass. However, the baby’s heart came out still beating. Adasevic realized then that he had killed a human being,”

After this experience, Adasevic “told the hospital he would no longer perform abortions. Never before had a doctor in Communist Yugoslavia refused to do so.  They cut his salary in half, fired his daughter from her job, and did not allow his son to enter the university.”

After years of pressure and on the verge of giving up, he had another dream about St. Thomas.

“You are my good friend, keep going,’ the man in black and white told him.  Adasevic became involved in the pro-life movement and was able to get Yugoslav television to air the film ‘The Silent Scream,’ by Doctor Bernard Nathanson, two times.”

Adasevic has told his story in magazines and newspapers throughout Eastern Europe. He has returned to the Orthodox faith of his childhood and has studied the writings of St. Thomas Aquinas.

“Influenced by Aristotle, Thomas wrote that human life begins forty days after fertilization,” Adasevic wrote in one article. La Razon commented that Adasevic “suggests that perhaps the saint wanted to make amends for that error.”  Today the Serbian doctor continues to fight for the lives of the unborn.

I am posting this article in response to what everyone seems to be saying to those of us that did not vote for Obama, things like, "It's time to get on board", "it's time to give him a chance" etc.  If I hear one more news commentator say that...

Here is the thing.  I DON'T have to get on board.  I'm not getting on board.  I will never get on board with a President who says he is a Christian but cozies up to Planned Parenthood.  A "Christian" who says if his daughter "made a mistake" he would not want her "PUNISHED with a baby."

Aside from the fact that I believe Obama is going to, if not at the very least steer our country in the direction of things like more Union power, government controlled thermostats and taxes that phase out the middle class the man is positively, without a doubt the most pro-abortion politician this country has ever seen.

We must continue to speak out for those who can not speak.  Instead they offer us their Silent Screams.  Their pleas for us to offer them the same chance we have been given - LIFE, LIBERTY and the PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS.  Get on board with Obama?  No thanks.  I'll walk.

Real Racism

Today, when calling someone by their nationality or religion is considered racist ("He's Mexican" or "She's Jewish") let's get wise and set aside what I believe is a ridiculous hyper-sensitivity that distracts from the real thing.  With race cards being played all the time lately it's important to remember what real racism is.
This video is a perfect example of real racism.  Too bad no one wants to talk about it.

Thanks Victoria for finding this great clip.

Picture this...

A ten inch, down syndrome, 22 week old baby boy has just been aborted. Somehow he has survived the abortion and now is being taken to the soiled linen closet to die alone. His parents don't want to hold him. The nurses are too busy...

Now imagine you are a senator with the power to be a part of passing legislation that would require that this helpless little boy be provided medical attention. But imagine you as a senator would rather that this darling angel be denied medical attention and should instead die - just as the abortionist intended.

Now imagine yourself present when Jesus reprimanded his disciples for shooing the children away. Imagine the fallen sparrow that God says he cares about.

Now imagine voting for Barack Obama.

If you can't...Hallelujah.

If you can...start all over again and imagine a helpless baby boy dying in a soiled linen closet.

This is not some far fetched dramatic blog by someone passionate about unborn children. I worked at the radio station that played a big role in exposing the horrors of "Christ Hospital."
I met the women who held dying babies when no one else would. I've ranted about this before...See here.

There are tons of reasons Barack and his Utopian blather makes me sick but my God, what is sicker than
not
being outraged by denying help to a dying baby. As human beings the thought of a baby dying helplessly should bring tears to our eyes, if you are a Christian you are called to remember and take care of "The least of these."

Start with first things first.
LIFE.
There is more to today's issues, there is more than global warming, carbon footprints (that expression alone makes me laugh), there is more than Iraq and "corporate greed". First and foremost is the respect for life. I can not think of any more "least" than an aborted baby.
There is more to leadership than stories of "hope" and "peace" - there was no hope for that baby boy so how could he offer hope to you and I?

Additional info-
If you're all bent out of shape that I am picking on Barack. Don't worry, each candidate will get their turn but sorry - I'm gonna pick on him the most.

A few months back Dr. Dobson interviewed the former head of the largest abortion clinic in the country. He oversaw 75,000 abortions. Performed 5,000 including his own child. This video changed his mind, once seeing it he never performed another abortion...Please be forewarned this is pretty horrible but proves the pain and horrors inflicted on the "fetus"

I am also compelled to say since some think me "judgemental" when I rant that I do not hate women who have had abortions. Nor does God. And whether or not they are sad for themselves or regretful, I am. My heart aches for them. The Lord is a forgiving God and is waiting with open arms. His mercies are new every morning.

Rome Didn't Fall in a Day...

First let me say be sure not to miss the post before this one - the photos are too funny.

I will confess that Joel and I LOVE the HBO series; "Rome." The reason I say "confess" is that the show can be rather in your face...leaving little to the imagination, not holding back when portraying the pagan culture that was (quite often I have to look away, we have even fast forwarded it!!).
I have, for years been fascinated with ancient Rome and it's similarities to our country today. Civilized society meets absolute perversion. As a young person in my early twenties I would tell my friends, "What makes us think we can keep going on like this...look at Rome!" They just looked at me like I was crazy.

There are, as you know popular beliefs that I don't subscribe to...I don't believe Africa should be supplied with safe sex lessons and condoms (any more than today's teens should), I don't believe you and I are the cause of Global Warming and I don't believe in "over-population." I was then of course pleased to read this article by Chuck Colson. I found it at am 560's website- www.560wind.com. I thought you might enjoy it...I appreciate you taking two minutes to read it and your comments.

"Every time you turn around, a presidential candidate whips out his Bible—or a position paper—to let us know how faithful he or she is. Senator John Edwards (D-N.C.) says God "would be happy with the fact that" he's focused on people without health care. Senator Barack Obama (D-Ill.) says we should "discuss religion . . . in the positive sense of what it tells us about our obligations towards one another." Republicans, also, are quick to point out how faith informs their policies.

Clearly, the candidates are appealing to America's religious voters—and they are smart to do so. As one social scientist recently noted, they are going to need religious voters for the long term—because Christians are having far more children than their secular neighbors.

Writing in the Wall Street Journal, social scientist Arthur Brooks notes that if you pick 100 adults out of the population who attend their houses of worship nearly every week, they would have 223 children among them. But among 100 people who attend religious services less than once a year—or never—you would find 158 kids. That's a 41 percent fertility gap between religious and secular people.

Even worse—if you are a secularist—religious people who identify themselves as politically "conservative" or "very conservative" are having, on average, an astonishing 78 percent more kids than secular liberals, Brooks writes.

This is significant, because kids tend to grow up to worship the way their parents do. In a generation or two, we are going to have a bumper crop of conservative citizens. Candidates who appeal to Christians will win more elections simply because of demographics.

This is not the first time in history we have seen the demographic power of the Church. Take, for example, ancient Rome.

In his book The Rise of Christianity, Rodney Stark describes ways in which religious belief affected population growth and decline. Pagans believed in abortion; Christians forbade it. Christianity also prohibited infanticide. But as for pagans, Stark told Touchstone magazine: "We've unearthed sewers clogged with the bones of newborn girls." So, "Christians didn't have the enormous shortage of women that plagued the rest of the empire."

And pagan husbands engaged in adultery, polygamy, and divorce, but Christianity forbade these things. So, Christian marriages tended to be more loving, more faithful, and more open to children.

We see parallels today between the modern West and ancient Rome. The low pagan fertility rate meant that Rome needed to import workers—and soldiers—from the farthest reaches of the empire and beyond. Rome lost its social cohesion. So, Rome fell. The Christian Church survived because believers had been multiplying. And what is going to cause Christianity to recover in the modern West may be precisely the same phenomenon.

For the last half century, Western industrialized nations, fearing overpopulation and despoiling the planet, have made slowing population growth one of their top priorities. So now we are in the middle of what one observer calls a "global baby bust"—except, that is, among devout Christian families, those who take seriously the biblical mandate to "be fruitful and multiply." It shows that when Christians live out the biblical worldview, we not only survive, we thrive.

Explore This!

Warning - this may be offensive or stomach turning.

I would like to begin with a "disclaimer" of sorts - I do have family members and friends that admire this man so I am not calling anyone "stupid" for being entranced by his charms and smooth words but I do want to take this opportunity to point one or two things out that you are not going to hear on Oprah, The View or from Katie Couric.

I will be expounding on Barack Hussain Obamba as he progresses towards the Presidency. Lest we get caught in the snare of the main stream media and who they choose to idolize...

Today Barack Hussain Obama announced an "exploratory committee" in his quest towards the White House. (I find it rather interesting that this charismatic "middle of the road" "leader" chooses to leave the "Hussain" part of his name out, as does the media...)

Nonetheless...

It is possible for someone to have a loving wife and family, a beautiful smile and to stand for some things that sound really "good" at first and have an underlying current of ROTTEN -NESS!... and I am challenging my Christian readers who are charmed by this man to consider the following information:

I understand he is a voice for Darfur, I understand he has a loving wife and beautiful children, I understand that he is NOT Hillary but, I need you, those of you who follow Christ to look at this mans voting record. His books are well written and engaging - his voting records should cause your sleep to be disturbed.

The thing I want to highlight in this blog is this: Barack Hussain Obama supportes abortion on demand - this includes partial birth abortion. Joel would prefere that I not refer this "procedure" (it is so vile) but I feel the need to because so many are blinded as to what is really going on in our country.

Partial Birth Abortion can take place (and does) up until the ninth month of pregnancy. The labor is induced and the baby is delivered and in most cases the baby dies during delivery but should the baby survive, once the head appears an instrument is stabbed into the back of their neck and the skull is crushed. Yes, that is happening today in this country. So much for debating over embryos.

Here is the thing. The "hero" Barack Obama has no problem with this procedure and he voted one further - should a baby SURVIVE the abortion he voted AGAINST providing medical help to this struggling PERSON. (This was a major story that you most likely never heard here in Chicago, a few years ago at Christ Hospital (of all names) babies were dying in the soiled linen closet. Click here for the story.)

So, for what is it worth and I know this is a brief blog but I am SO SICK of hearing about his guy. I don't care how much Oprah loves him or what he is doing for Africa - As I have said before, plenty other organizations are committed to serving countries like Africa (World Vision) and our Lord at the same time but this ALONE should be cause for the Christian to cry out for the Lord to deal with this man in His own divine way and cause for us to cry out for discernment in this sick, perverted world that the devil wants us to believe can be wonderful.

Brief food for thought.

Father Forgive Us, We Know What We Do.

"Women who are experiencing an unplanned pregnancy also deserve to experience unplanned joy."
-Patricia Heaton
Star of "Everybody Loves Raymond."

  • Approximately 2 million families in America are currently READY AND WAITING to adopt. Only about 23,000-24,000 babies American babies are put up for adoption each year in the U.S.

  • Every 24 seconds, a baby dies of abortion

  • 55% of minors who have abortions do not tell their parents.

  • "Unwanted " is not the quality of a baby; it is an attitued of the parents.

  • 48% of women who have abortion have two or more.

  • 36 abortions a day are performed on women who are FIVE MONTHS PREGNANT OR MORE!
Ladies, my dearest girlfriends...Abortion is not a symbol of feminism. It is on the contrary the least feminine thing a woman can do. When there are other alternatives...and there are ALWAYS other alternatives we must, for the sake of humanity ALWAYS error on the side of life.

"No matter what the motive, love of ease, or a desire to save from suffering the unborn innocent, the woman is awfully guilty who commits the deed. It will burden her conscience in life, it will burden her soul in death; But oh, thrice guilty is he who drove her to the desperation which impelled her to the crime!"
-Susan B. Anthony
Founder of the Feminist Movement
